Wasan Saenwian has been working in the area of disability rights, care and advocacy for over 30 years. He founded a Thai Foundation in 1997 called Christian Care Foundation for Children with Disabilities (CCD), and under his direction and leadership, the charity has expanded from a small organisation to an NGO with over 50 staff spread across 12 projects working with over 400 disabled children. CCD's projects include working in government institutions, running preventative and early intervention community projects, while also providing residential care with a holistic approach including independent living and vocational training. Khun Wasan himself has received recognition from the office of the Prime Minister of Thailand, and currently sits on several advisory boards and committees including a local government committee involved with approving and authorising small business loans to applicants with special needs. Wasan is experienced in working with local governments, community providers and international funders, as well as families and children with disabilities. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise, and has prided himself on his Foundation repeatedly being awarded Excellent and Gold Standard by government and independent auditors.
